Three agencies, Geneva Centre for Autism, Plan Toronto and Autism Ontario worked in partnership on this project and the web site you are visiting. This project was made possible by the Person-Directed Planning Fiscal Innovation Fund from the Ministry of Community and Social Services.

The purpose of this project was to build skills and increase the knowledge base in the community specific to the provision of person-directed planning for individuals with an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Individuals with an ASD have been identified by facilitators as needing accommodations in the planning process related to: communication; relationship building; choice making; abstract and flexible thinking; hesitation to try new things; transitions and sensory processing. An essential component of the project was to increase awareness of the importance of accommodations and strategies that are essential when meeting to facilitate a person-directed plan for a person with an ASD.
