AIC Level 1 Asperger - GCA - Feb 2012

Participants will gain an in-depth understanding of Asperger Syndrome including individualized program development and delivery. Content will include assessment, identifying goals, development of teaching and intervention strategies including visual supports, program evaluation and resource review for the distinct learning and behavioural characteristics of individuals with Asperger Syndrome. Educational best practices, environmental design, transition and service delivery models will be discussed. The format will include case studies, lecture, large and small group discussion, video and article reviews.
Participants will be required to complete a series of assignments as well as a final assignment that will focus on the development of an individual profile. All assignments and the final evaluation will be completed online. To successfully complete this course, participants must attend ALL sessions, complete ALL assignments, and achieve at least 80% on the final evaluation. Contingent upon this criteria, participants will receive a certificate indicating that they have completed the Asperger Syndrome Certificate Course, Level 1 from Geneva Centre for Autism.
